Let me remind all of you to give the officers (Jim O'Donnell, Rich Palmer, Ray Morrison and me) your ideas for next year's programming. If we don't get enough subjects, Rich will talk to you about his flying lessons, Jim his kids, Ray his golf game, and me my trip to the Grand Canyon… Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. in Rooms 1-2-3 at St. Peter's Hospital. Our speaker will be familiar to many members…Shelley McCormick, head of the cardiac rehab department of St. Peter' Hospital. Perhaps you noticed that Shelley also attended our September meeting. Let's guarantee her a good audience…bring your friends who have had heart events. They'll enjoy the program and meeting other heart survivors. See you then. …Bev Gibson
Natchitoches
Two guys were driving through Louisiana. As they were approaching Natchitoches, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town. They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch. As they stood at the counter, one guy asked the manager, "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are, very slowly?" The manager leaned over the counter and said, "Burrrrrrrr-gerrrrrrr Kiiiiing."
Officers meeting
We held our regular officers meeting at the hospital today to discuss whatever it is that officers discuss. We talked about putting together an agenda for next year and we think we have some pretty good ideas, but then we still want to hear from you as to what or who you would like do a presentation. Come on you guys, a little help now. We also discussed memberships. We had several new people show up with interest in our group, and if anyone is planning to join, the new memberships are $27 for a family and $20 for an individual. Of this, $3 stays with the group and the rest goes to national. Renewal are $20 and $15 and again $3 stays here. Not a bad price for such a fine organization. Ray Morrison is our Treasure and he would love to sign you up at any of our meetings.
